I Began Playing tennis at the age of 5, straight away I took a liking to the sport constantly nagging my parents and siblings to play with me and beginning to spend most of my free time either playing on court with my family or hitting against a wall.
I played and won my first tournament at the age of 7 and my love for the game, even though I participated in many other sports, began to grow.
I was coached by Dean Botha at Claremont tennis club playing roughly 4 to 5 times a week participating in local tournaments around the country.
At the age of 13 my parents took my brother and I to go watch the 2009 semi-finals of Wimbledon we were lucky enough to watch players such as Roger Federer, Tommy Haas, Andy Roddick and Andy Murray, after that I decided that I wanted to try and become a tennis professional and one day hopefully play at that level, I stopped playing all other sports and began to devote even more of my time to playing tennis after school and on the weekend.
Last year my parents got an email from Michelle Whitehead saying that at Sea Point club her and a man by the name of Anthony Harris would be starting a tennis Program that will help junior tennis players try and become tennis professionals, I remember sitting and listening to Anthony speak about the program and thinking to myself I have to be in this program.
I am now currently in the Victory Program which is run by the Growing Sports Foundation trust with Anthony Harris as My Coach and am still trying to accomplish my Dream of becoming a tennis professional.
