Cape Town High School
Through thick and thin we have prevailed – and now we have 62 interested tennis players , 4 dilapidated tennis courts with broken fences at the school but with a magnificent practise wall – and now 4 nets donated by a sponsor to enable us to have 4 courts in use at the school.
Good Hope Seminary School
We started here with 42 high school girls most of whom had never played tennis before. This year, 2011, we have 62 girls partaking in the programme on 2 days of the week.
Rahmaniyeh Primary School
Situated in Constitution Street, in the middle of District Six – lies this potentially magnificent red brick tiles school building – sadly dilapidated, windows barred, no playgrounds but weeds and rubbish from the winds gathered in its corners – a place of eduaction for 300 township + district 6 children.
Walmer Estate Primary School
Run by a passionate Staff and Head Master – this school is ready to try anything for the good of their chidlren. Every child is encouraged to change into their sports white shorts and T-shirts (a discipline) and to go about learning their sports with enthusiasm and discipline.
Windermere Primary School
Situated in Kensington, off Voortrekker Road – this school pleaded with us to be part of the programme and now we teach the Grade 1,2 and 3 children during their school day twice a week.
Zonnebloem Boys Primary
Situated in Zonebloem Nest of schools in District 6, there are 3 schools AND 2 completely dilapidated tennis courts with a lovely practise wall which we would love to renovate and create a TENNIS CENTER for the district 6 community.
St Marys Primary School
A catholic school, a bit more ´upmarket´ than the District 6 schools, this school has a lovely tarred netball court area where we teach the tennis.
